Snakefella Reptile Removals was once a part of a joint rescue organization called Snakefella Wildlife Rescue. When the rescue was rebranded in 2021, the reptile removal part was moved into being a sole business operating under its own name.
Run jointly by Jake and Josh, we are both qualified rehabilitators and Damage Mitigation Permit (DMP) holders within Queensland under the Department of Environment and Science.
OUR QUALIFICATIONS
To be qualified and be able to hold a DMP, each person must have completed a venomous snake handling course, be current in first aid and CPR, and have the knowledge to effectively identify and handle. Josh is also qualified in confined spaces. Both are insured for Public Liability.
Under our permits, we adhere to the following standards:
1. Taking of reptiles must be carried out in a humane manner and in such a way as to inflict no injury to the reptile.
2. Reptiles must be released the same day as capture in suitable habitat, as close as possible to the place of capture, having appropriate regard for public safety,
3. The permit does not authorise the indiscriminate taking of reptiles but only those reptiles requested to be moved by the occupier of the premises.
